Nick fidgeted. It’s what he did whenever he was in an unfamiliar situation – doubly so when that situation got him, ah, hot under the collar. For him, being at the Motley Fool ticked both boxes. It was a nightclub, or a bar, depending on who you asked – a meeting spot for people to spend their hours after work, on the weekend, and whatever other free time they could find in their busy, working lives. Music thumped through his chest, beating out of time with Nick’s heart, and the low, multicolored lights reflected off his matte black hair and gentle hazel eyes, washing him in hues of red and green and blue. What’s more, the crowd: people brushing up against one another and leaning in against another’s ears to speak, and to be heard.
