Bunny Burrow was struggling with a serious overpopulation crisis. With a new pro-pred mayor, predators now were much more desired and appreciated than before. Devouring prey species animals wasn’t illegal anymore, and it even was encouraged by authorities to make the ratio of preys and predators closer to equality. All foxes of Bunny Burrow were hunting on bunnies like crazy for the first few months after the new order was established, but the only result of their efforts was their obesity and aversion to the taste of rabbit meat. Bunnies always were infamous for breeding like crazy, but combined with the massive migration of predatory species from the countryside to Zootopia, the only natural factor holding their breeding back now was gone. The authorities had to take desperate measures and took all male bunnies away from the Bunny Burrow, moving them to another town and giving the females who remained there, mostly Hopps family, an ultimatum: they had to reduce their numbers in four times, no matter how, but if they increase the local fox population – reducing their numbers in two times would be enough to restore the balance. Naturally, the first person the bunny girls thought about was Judy Hopps – the most successful and the most popular family member of theirs, who had good relationships with foxes.
